Casa Perlita was designed by one of Merida's most prominent architects and refined by it's owners as their personal residence when in Merida. Your first step inside will touch down upon a chiseled stone floor that lends an air of monastic calm to the front rooms. Soaring ceilings, ceiling fans and air conditioning keep these front foyer and media rooms cool and inviting. Beyond the foyer, step out into the light, reflecting off the central pool into the shaded patio that surrounds it. Stone, wood, wrought iron and hand-painted stucco walls exude personality, while the blue-tiled pool keeps the feeling cool and refreshing. There are more places to sit and relax than you'll have time for, but don't let that stop you from doing your best. Because sitting around the pool, whether with a glass of fresh juice or a chilled bottle of beer or a ice-cold mojito... that's what it's all about here in the Yucatan. For dining, the completely equipped Talavera-tiled kitchen, the central dining room and the outdoor patio and barbecue under the palapa roof are all available for your culinary pleasure. There are markets galore in Merida including an excellent Costco complete with an admirable wine selection.  You'll probably love the stone fountain just outside the kitchen; you might even choose to sleep in one of the equally large ensuite downstairs bedrooms, each with it own private garden, that share the gentle sound of falling water.

Upstairs, the master suite features a large bedroom overlooking the central patio where guests sleep under a hand-constructed brick vaulted ceiling. The master bathroom features its own upstairs garden, open to the sky, and a private large terrace that is perfect for watching the stars on a warm tropical night.
